Dr. Raymond Moody, MD, PhD is a world-renowned scholar, lecturer, and researcher, and he is widely recognized as the leading authority on near-death experiences. Lisa Smartt, MA is a linguist, educator, and author of Words at the Threshold. The book is based on data collected through The Final Words Project, an ongoing study devoted to gathering and interpreting the mysterious language at end of life. Lisa has co-facilitated presentations with Dr. Raymond Moody at universities, hospices, and conferences about language and consciousness and they recently founded the online educational platform, The University of Heaven. Lisa recently published Cante Bardo, a novel about a flamenco singer, and Veil, a book of poems inspired by her father.
Dr. Jeffrey Long is a medical doctor specializing in the practice of radiation oncology. He lives in Houma, Louisiana. Eben Alexander, MD, was a neurosurgeon for over 25 years, including 15 years at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School in Boston. He has a passionate interest in physics and cosmology. Howard Storm experienced a profound near-death experience on June 1, 1985. While dying in a hospital in Paris, France he had an experience that involved being tormented in hell, calling out to Jesus, being saved, given a life review, and having all his questions answered. From that experience, he ceased being an atheist and is now a Christian pastor. Howard Storm's book My Descent Into Death covers the major elements of his NDE. Currently there is a Hollywood movie being produced by Alcon Studios based on his story. Storm is the pastor of Saint Mark United Church of Christ in Latonia, Kentucky.
Paul Perry is the co-author of several New York Times bestsellers, including Evidence of the Afterlife, Closer to the Light, Transformed by the Light, and Saved by the Light which was made into a popular movie by Fox. His books have been published in more than 30 languages around the world and cover a wide variety of subjects from near-death experiences to biographies of authors Ken Kesey and Hunter S. Thompson. He is also a documentary filmmaker and owns SAKKARA Productions, a film production company, in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Perry's writing and film making earned him a knighthood in the Royal Family of Portugal. Perry is a graduate of Arizona State University and has an MFA from Antioch University (Los Angeles). He was also fellow at the Gannett Center for Media Studies at Columbia University in New York City and taught magazine writing at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.

Kimberly Clark Sharp, MSW, LiCSW had a near-death experience at twenty-two. She is the author of “After the Light: The Spiritual Path to Purpose” (Wm. Morrow & Co. 1995); audio (HarperCollins 1995). Kimberly Clark Sharp is the founder of Seattle International Association of Near-Death Studies, the world’s oldest and largest support group for near death experiencers, since 1982. Kimberly is an international conference and workshop speaker, a consultant to news and entertainment media, and has been published in many textbooks, journals, and magazines. She worked for two decades as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Washington. She co-taught a Terminal Illness Seminar at the University of Washington, School of Medicine.
Tony Cicoria, is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon, former Chief of Orthopedics at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich, New York, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at SUNY Upstate Medical School, in Syracuse. He lives in York, Maine and has three grown children. Despite being a trained orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Cicoria’s musical career began rather remarkably after he was struck by lightning in 1994 while speaking on a public telephone and had a NDE. Shortly thereafter, he developed in insatiable desire to play the piano. As a result of his unusual introduction to the world of music, Dr. Cicoria was featured in the New Yorker Magazine article A Bolt from the Blue, by Oliver Sacks MD, as well as in Dr. Sacks’ book Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain. Jose Hernandez is an authentic intuitive and talented artist. He has spent close to two decades integrating his near-death experience and sharing his experience and gifts with others. An electrical engineer and self-confessed atheist, Jose died twice in one night following a mundane accident at work and a simple mistake by hospital staff in the ER department.
